ree

What you’re voting on Create a new $50,000 homestead exemption on Atlanta Public Schools (APS) property taxes for homeowners age 65+ on their primary residence (inside APS).

Why it matters School taxes are a major part of the property-tax bill. This exemption is meant to help older Atlantans age in place and reduce monthly costs.

If you vote YES

  • You support adding the new $50,000 APS school-tax exemption for qualifying seniors.

If you vote NO

  • You want to keep current APS senior exemptions as they are, with no new $50,000 exemption added.

Who may qualify (plain English)

  • Age: 65 or older

  • Home: Primary residence located within APS boundaries

  • Other rules: Standard homestead rules still apply (owner-occupied, one homestead per household).(Exact income/verification requirements and start date are set by APS/County; check your specific details.)

What to do next (If it pass)
