 Resource Navigation:
Professional & Strategic Outreach Program

At The Bridge United, Resource Navigation goes beyond simply connecting individuals to services — it fuels our entire mission. Led by our Executive Director with support from board leaders and TBU Community Ambassadors, this program actively cultivates partnerships with organizations, agencies, foundations, and service providers. Together, we build a well-informed, accessible network that blends TBU digital tools with personal outreach, ensuring that everyone can find the help they need

Home Safety Support Program: Modifications & Accessibility Aid

The Home Safety Support Program delivers practical, accessible solutions that empower community members — including seniors, people with mobility challenges, and those facing other physical limitations — to remain safe and independent at home. Coordinated by The Bridge United’s Project Coordinator and Volunteer Leads, this program focuses on aging in place and improving quality of life.

Through targeted home safety modifications — such as grab bars, handrails, bathroom accessibility upgrades, and other safety adjustments — we reduce fall risks, improve mobility, and create safer living environments.

In addition, we connect participants with qualifying security and safety programs that may provide:

  • Lock replacements and reinforced entry points

  • Exterior lighting installations for improved visibility

  • Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

  • Basic home security measures

Additional resources are offered to those who meet program requirements

Volunteer-Led Outreach Services

This volunteer-powered program, coordinated by The Bridge United’s Bridge Ambassadors, brings a personal, hands-on element to our mission. It serves two key purposes: to assist community members who need extra support navigating resources and to strengthen the impact of outreach efforts across the organizations we collaborate with.

Here’s how this program serves the community:

  • Assist the call center: TBU works alongside its call center volunteers, helping to respond to inquiries and connect people with resources quickly and compassionately.

  • Hands-on guidance through next steps: The Bridge United team member can sit down with you to help complete pre-qualification or intake documents, explain what to expect, and ensure you leave with a clear understanding of the next steps — offering extra support for those who need a more hands-on approach.

  • Support grassroots partners: TBU collaborates with local organizations by providing extra hands during outreach events, helping partnering to Assist and extend our reach to better serve the communities.

  • In-person consultations: Bridge Ambassadors meet with individuals and families where they are — at events, libraries, or other partner sites — to create a warm, face-to-face connection and make resource navigation less intimidating.

This blend of TBU’s team, staff coordination, and community partnerships is one of the things that makes The Bridge United unique. It’s not just about information — it’s about people helping people, meeting neighbors where they are, and making sure no one feels alone in the process.

Advocacy & Legislative Engagement Committee

Mobilizing Voices. Strengthening Connections.

This program equips TBU, volunteers and board members to stay informed about issues affecting underserved communities and to share accurate, timely information with the public. We focus on building relationships, facilitating dialogue, and helping the community stay informed about matters at the local, state, and federal level that impact their daily lives — without engaging in lobbying activities.

By amplifying community voices, The Bridge United strengthens its role as a connector—not only to vital services but also to opportunities for constructive systems improvement.
